Embattled Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State, and his deputy, Barr. Bala download (1)James Ngilari,?on Friday?refused to appear before the panel constituted by the State Acting Chief Judge to look into the allegations of gross misconduct, maladministration and abuse of office against the governor by members of the State House of Assembly.

The House of Assembly accordingly commenced impeachment procedure against Nyako and his deputy, Bala James Ngalari.

Nyako had?on Wednesday?vowed that he would not appear before the panel constituted by the state Chief Judge Ambrose Mammadi, saying that the matter is in court and expects the state legislators to act accordingly.

He kept to his promise not to appear before the committee?on Friday?even as he refused to send any legal representation.

The House of Assembly was however represented by Chief Duro Adeyede, SAN, who led six other lawyers.

The House through its chairman of its Committee on Public Account, Hon Thelma Wafarinyi tendered before the committee six exhibits to the panel as evidences against the deputy governor and 28 exhibits, including a video CD against the Nyako.

The panel after receiving the documents from the House, adjourned sitting forSaturday?to enable examine the witness and service of hearing on the governor and deputy governor.
