Ghanaian defender Seth Konadu admits it was difficult beating his compatriots at TP Mazembe to help CS Sfaxien win this year?s Confederations Cup.

The full back was integral to the Sfaxien?s continental success haven beaten the star-studded Congolese team 3-2 on aggregate.

Sfaxien scored a late consolation in the 2-1 defeat to Mazembe on Saturday.

The result however saw the Tunisian club win the title in their opponents backyard haven already won the first leg 2-0.

Konadu?s triumph however meant agony for five other Ghanaian players who were part of the Mazembe squad for the final match in Lubumbashi.

The 23-year-old defender concedes it was heartbreaking to see his compatriots suffer from the massive cup disappointment but says it was only fair as the best team on the day won.

?The feeling [of winning the cup] is of greatness because winning a cup final away from home in Africa sounds very strange,? he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

?Personally it was a very difficult game for me not only because of the scotching weather but the fact that I played against my colleagues from Ghana.

?They [Ghanaians at TP Mazembe] are very good players and they are almost like blood brothers since they are from Ghana.

?So I told them to take the result cool because after all, the cup belonged to the better team and at least another Ghanaian also won it.?

Sfaxien is now the most successful club in the CAF Confederations Cup haven won it on three occasions.
