Investigation Report On CMS Fire Ready

The Government of Ghana has revealed that report from investigations into a fire incident that destroyed the Central Medical Stores (CMS) in Tema last year was a clear case of arson.

A statement issued from the Flagstaff House said, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Marietta Brew Appiah-Opong will release the full report today, Friday, January 29, 2016.

The Central Medical Stores store which contains medicines and medical equipment for onward distribution across the country was gutted by fire and items worth over GHS200 million were destroyed.

The Ministry of Health has however released GHS25 million to beef up supplies at the stores after the fire in 2015, and also indicated that about GHS75 million was needed to fully replace the items which were destroyed.
