Benjamin-UwajumoguIt was a moment of joy and a clear invitation of the spirit of God, last Tuesday, at the floor of chambers of the Imo state House of Assembly, as the law makers critically guarded their loins to clearly face the challenges that would emanate from the last lap of their legislative year.

Various songs and praises to God hovered the chambers, as members danced and clapped in admiration to the glory of God, while special prayers were also delivered by different men of God at the event, including Pastor Ihemebiri, for the House and its members, the state government and most importantly, the precarious security situation of the country.

Delivering a sermon which was anchored from the book of Exodus 33:12 ? 29, the Assembly Chaplain, Rev. Emma Agoha told the Honorable members that God would not hesitate to come to their aid and give them rest, just like he promised the Israelites in the Bible, provided that they continue to walk in his ways and do that which is pleasant in his sight.

He noted that the special grace of God had been made manifest in the House, as none of them fell to the daily antics of the devil during the time their recess lasted, adding that God in his infinite mercy would continue to grant them such privilege, provided they make him their chief corner stone.

In an address to welcome his colleagues, the Speaker Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, expressed gratitude to the Almighty God for bringing each and every one of them safely after their recess, adding that God has been instrumental to the enormous progress being recorded by the House within the shortest time.

He declared that during the period, the Assembly won a number of laurels, among which is the prestigious most productive House in the South East zone and second in the country, while attributing that to the excellent hard work and total support of all the members.

The Speaker also announced that the House? plenary would soon be shifted to its permanent chambers, as logistics are currently in place to fast track its early occupation.

He further expressed satisfaction at the extent of work done by contractors in the magnificent edifice and thanked the state governor, Owelle??Rochas Okorocha, as well as the good people of the state for their sustained effort and cooperation.
