The ongoing first round of 2015 immunization routine in Kano is said to record success as most of the parents in the state are cooperating with the health officials in the state. According to the Kano state ministry of health?s secretary Isma?il Garba the exercise which started on Saturday is expected to last for days in all the 44 local government areas of the state.

The deputy of Kano state government Alh. Umar Ganduje expressed delight over the turn out of parents with their children for the immunization he however called on the people of the state to disregard the old rumor being speculated in the state that polio immunization is just a way of reducing the state population as the vaccine is capable of preventing one from giving birth to many children this he said is false as research has shown that the population in Kano is increasing rather than decreasing.

The minister of health Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf also expressed delight over the success recorded and hoped that parents will continue to cooperate with them so that Kano will soon be declared polio free state.
