Ibadan Polytechnic wins Oyo Tertiary Institution Games

The institution defeated University of Ibadan 4-2 on penalties

The Polytechnic Ibadan has won the 11th edition of Oyo State Tertiary Institution Games, claiming all the trophies in the male and female football finals.

The institution defeated University of Ibadan 4-2 on penalties after an earlier 1-1 draw in the full-time while the female team thrashed Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH) of Ogbomoso 5-0.  Olatunbosun Kehinde scored the five goals.

Dr Benson Osikabor, the acting Deputy Provost of Federal College of Forestry, Ibadan, the host of the games, who represented the provost, described the tournament as a success, adding that there was still room for improvement on the lapses.

Osikabor urged the organisers of the games to improve on security, and commended them for  success of the tournament.

Bayo Oyeleke, the Dean of Student Affairs, The Polytechnic, Ibadan , said that he was highly elated by the performance of his team.

Oyeleke said the institution was blessed with talented student who had always been motivated by the scholarships and awards offered by the school.
