People of Nkontompo in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis in the Western Region woke up to the shock of their lives when a headless body of a man was found laying on a rail line.
The 75 year old man, was believed to have gone to the community park at dawn to pray when the unfortunate happened.
According to sources in the community, the incident happened at dawn but as the time news team from GNA got to the scene, the police had already taken the body to the morgue.
According to GNA reports, Mr Anthony Ephraim, Assembly man for the area, gave the name of the deceased as Kobina Ackon, a native of Ekumfi Nsafor in the Central Region.
He said the man was a well-known responsible mason and in the community, adding that his death came as a huge surprise and shock to the whole community.
Mr Ephraim said the community leadership would meet on the matter and come out with some directives on the matter.
He urged the community to be security conscious and look out for strange people and report them to the opinion leaders.
Madame Mercy Baidoo, a co -tenant to the deceased said she saw him in the house around 1340 hours of yesterday.
