HOLY TRINITY Hospital has donated items worth over GH?5,000 to the Surgical Department of Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

The items included a water dispenser, 9 filled water containers, microwave, a set of crockery, refrigerator and kettle.

Speaking after the donation, Kennedy Amoako, Accounts Manager, Holy Trinity Hospital said the donation was to enhance the partnership between the public and private sector.

According to him, they will go a long way to help the nurses and doctors at the hospital discharge their duties creditably and under less stress.

Mr. Amoako said even though Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital was the largest public sector hospital in the country, it lacked various facilities that could help nurses and doctors there discharge their duties more efficiently.

He said public sector institutions were often unable to provide some treatments offered by the private sector due to inadequate facilities.

?We have therefore decided to build up the capacity of public   sector hospitals in order for them to feel comfortable in taking care of patients,? he added.

Mr. Amoako said ?This is not the first time we are offering Korle-Bu such support. We?ve been doing this for the past 10 years including other government hospitals.?

He called on private sector entities to help support Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and other government hospitals in rural areas.

Mr. Amoako urged private hospitals to foster partnerships with government hospitals in order to save precious lives.

Alice Afi Adjormadoh, Deputy Director of Nursing Service at the hospital expressed appreciation to Holy Trinity Hospital for the support and urged other private institutions to emulate them.

Holy Trinity Medical Centre has been a successful health hospital since its establishment.
