Hippo’s assistant coach Abdallah Mubiru told Daily Monitor early preparations will help spur the future Cranes to the 18th edition of the junior competition.

“The boys have been in good shape for quiet sometime and we only need to keep them together for some time to better their coordination,” Mubiru said.

Uganda face a tricky fixture where they will take on 2009 U-20 world champions Ghana in the second round if they go past Mozambique.

They will then have to negotiate a last hurdle against possibly a North African team.
