Talent display, high level competition and rich choreography characterized this year?s Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS) anniversary week celebration last week at the Accra and Tema Stadia.
The two-day event, put together by X?cutiv Multimedia Africa, attracted about 300 basic schools from the Greater Accra Region who participated in soccer gala competition, bouncy castle and other disciplines.
It was Dinashie Preparatory who were crowned the ultimate winners, after defeating Joehance School 3-2 in the final following a 0-0 score line in regulation time.
Prema International School emerged tops in the choreography event, while Mega Preparatory Ewit School followed in that order.
Meanwhile, a special soccer competition involving executives of X?cutive Multimedia and officials of GNAPS saw the former emerging as winners, with X?cutive Multimedia CEO Emmanuel Ola Williams fetching the only goal of the game.
At the Tema Park, Tema Happy Home School reigned supreme in the soccer event after defeating Campresco 1-0 with Hambert School finishing third.
Hambert?s Bright Akele was voted youngest player of the tournament, while the Best Supporting school prize went to Shinning Star.
Good Shepherd was adjudged the best school in choreography, while Shinning Star International School and Modap School followed.
Schools, officials and individuals who excelled in various fields took home special prizes including trophies, table tennis boards, 32 and 39 inches LED flat screen TV sets, Nunu products and Indomie products donated by Indomie Instant Noodles, Blue Crest and Nunu Milk.
X?cutiv Multimedia CEO Ola Williams described the event as a huge success saying, ?It?s been worthwhile putting this together. The talents displayed over the two days is a clear indication that juvenile sports is not dead after all.
?I am happy corporate bodies like Indomie, Nunu, NIIT and others have seen the potential in the kids and have come on board. If we continue in the same vein annually, we will get somewhere.?
