Northern Group Declare Unalloyed Support for Jonathan?s Re-election

By Augustine Aminu, Abuja
A Pan African group, Northern Ethnic Youth Group Assembly (NEYGA) said it has decided to declare a total support for the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term in office because he has performed credibly above his predecessors with his transformational programme which is very evidence in the six geo-political zones of the country.
The group stated this yesterday shortly after rising from its extraordinary session held in Keffi, Nasarawa state through the President of Ijaw Youth Council, Comrade (Eng.) Udengs Eradiri who said after due deliberation and consultation with relevant stakeholders and pressure groups affiliated to it, it considered the present state of the nation vis-?-vis the leadership of the country, hence, its decision to support Jonathan for a reelection.
?We commend the federal government under the impeccable leadership of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for the efforts made thus far to curb insurgency in the North east and we also hail our brave soldiers for fighting gallantly to restore peace and order to the affected
states? the group said.
It said that beyond huge deposits of crude oil alongside other mineral resources lying beneath the country, the youth have been identified as the treasure base of Nigeria and was glad that President Jonathan has been giving them prominence.
?Today, we call on all youths in the North and beyond to reject politics of bitterness and being used by politicians to cause mayhem in their communities and support unity across ethnic nationalities,?
the group urged.
They noted that with the emergence of President Jonathan had made some minority ethnic groups in the north and southern parts of the country to understand that they exist in similar circumstances.
While declaring that ?We the youths from the north have decided to close ranks and offer undivided support to President Jonathan rivaled being a man of impeccable character and unrivalled records of
achievements in Nigeria?.
However, they assured Nigerians that they would work assiduously at all times to contribute their quota to the unity and progress of Nigeria as a means of leaving their footprints on the sand of time.
As the 2015 elections approach, the group said, every member of the youth community of Nigeria must understand the importance of active politics in recognition of the lofty promises which PDP have made to the Nigerian people as been articulated in its manifestos.

We must identify with the only candidate that have been tested and can be trusted to raise the bar of good governance beyond where our founding fathers left it, the group said.
