You know, life in secondary School is kind of restricted, there you have limited freedom and you are always guided by rules but here on campus, you are free to ?hell:- Here is my story:
I gained admission into my dream university, I was so happy, I decided to make my parents happy and proud of me, so I decided to study hard, I never ?mingled with bingus?,? I minded my own business and tried my possible best to stay out of trouble. In fact I was known as book worm, ready to read myself to death if possible.
One day, I was carrying some books on my hand, my hand bag slung over my shoulders and at the same time, scrolling through the pages of my ?just completed project?. I wasn?t looking at where I was heading, it happened that I bumped into someone, all my books just went sprawling on the floor. I bent down to pick it and I kept repeating :am so sorry, I wasn?t looking?, he didn?t even mind, he just helped me pick them up and handed them over to me. Thank you I said?. He couldn?t even look at my face, he just smiled and said ?never mind?. My gosh! he was the cutest fellow ever, with the loveliest? smile. ?am Jemima? I said; strectching for an hand shake, he was just too shy to return it. ?Am Aaron? he said. We introduced ourselves and that was all. He was on my mind the whole day.
That incident opened a new room for me, we became friends and I learnt a lot from him. Seriously, I thought I was shy but I met a perfect match, he was damn shy and unable to express himself, he was always calm and reserved. ?Even with that, he was sweet and caring.
After class one day, I decided to hangout in a coffee shop outside school. I took a seat and ordered for a cup of coffee. I was surprised to see Aaron as a cleaner. He saw me and our eyes met, called him, he hesitated but he came, he took a sit in front of me, his head bowed to the ground. It was then I learnt he wasn?t as privileged as I was. He had to do a cleaner?s job to make ends meet. Throughout that day, I felt terrible, I was ?worried sick? over what he told me.
Our friendship triggered on that we were termed ?latest couple?. Just after lunch one day, Aaron said he had something to say, I was really interested in what he had to say. He said he liked me, he equally said that the first day he set his eyes on me, he developed feelings for me. I kept mute, not wanting to say anything. He then brought out a white bracelet and gave it to me, he said I should be his girlfriend. I didn?t have to think about it, I said yes, he was very happy, so was I.
But things turned around when this guy called Derick started developing interest in me. He stares endlessly at me in class and whenever our eyes met, he winks at me. This really pissed me off ?big time?. He wanted to be around me but I made it clear to him I had a boyfriend. He even said he liked and wanted to date me. I was annoyed with him, he said I should forget the ?cleaner boy? and be with him, before he left, he dropped a black bracelet on the table. I took it because it was lovely, I now had a black and white. I got home that night, still thinking about what he said. So I decided to double date the two guys.
Derrick was so happy that I agreed, he spoilt me ?craze?. I became pissed off by Aaron. I did not want to settle down with ?the future will be bright guys like him, I already had a future so I thought. I decided to end the game, I told Aaron it was over between us. I told him I don?t want to hang out with ?dirt? anymore. I even threw his bracelet back at him. He begged me but I refused. He was sad but me, I was blinded by riches.
Derrick never allowed me into his room, he gave useless excuses, I began suspecting him so I decided to meet him unannounced. I knocked but no one answered, I opened the door and entered only for me to see that Derick?s room was another world entirely. It was stained with blood all over, human head hanged on stakes and the room smelled awful my wrist began to glow, it was the bracelet it was attracting me to a room, I forced it out of my hand and threw it on the floor, before I could turn back, Derick appeared in black robe, I froze to death. He laughed and I was terrified. So you have seen it, am a ritualist and I will kill you too, he said that I was greedy and wanted money more than anything, he said Aaron was a sweet guy but I didn?t treasure him because he was poor. He laughed again and instantly turned into big snake and crawled into a pot. Instantly everything changed, I ran out of the room, foa all it was worth, goose pimple appeared all over my body, I was shaken to death.
I had lost everything including the only person that truly loved me. Even if Aaron would not accept her, she decided to beg for forgiveness.
She got to Aarons house, luckily he was in, he smiled when he saw her. She dropped down on her knees and started crying, saying she was sorry. Instantly, Aaron changed to a white robed angel. Aaron, ?you are an angel?, yes I am he replied. So Jemima I have forgiven you, never be carried away by wealth and never judge a person by what?s on the outside but what?s within, he said and disappeared. She wept bitterly. She was still weeping when she woke up. ?my God, it was just a dream. She checked the time, it was 2:30am she lay down again, even though it was a dream, she learnt that truly ?all that glitters is not gold?.
