Dhyanalinga temple near Coimbatore is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The tall structure of the Lord embraces the beauty and charm. The term Dhyanalinga means in meditation mode. Complete silence is maintained inside the premises of the temple to immerse in the spiritual power of the God.

This famous Shiva temple of Coimbatore is sanctified by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. The spiritual energies allow the devotees to experience peace and silence in the mind and body. Sarva Dharma Sthamba sculpture located at the entrance symbolises Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Jainism, Taoism, Judaism, Shinto, Buddhism and Zoroastrianism.

A huge dome engulfs Lord Shiva and it is 33 feet high & 76 feet in diameter. The structure is purely built with brick, mud, lime, sand, alum and herbal substances.

The design and structure of the building guarantees a life expectancy to about 5000 years. 

Features of Dhyanalinga

This is a yogic form of temple and the energy formed through this yogic science will last up to 2000 years. The medication space is provided inside the shrine and does not belong to any particular faith and system of life. The idol of Lord Shiva is about 13 feet height and made out of granite stone.

Theerthakund is a tank, which is built at a depth of 35 feet. Inside the tank a Lingam is placed and the idol is made out of mercury. The formation of this structure is done by using Indian alchemy principles. The devotees who visit the temple can take a dip in the tank at the entrance of the shrine before going inside.

 The walls surrounding the tank contain mural paintings depicting Maha Kumbha Mela festival.

When to visit

· Daily from Monday to Sunday Dhoop Aarti is performed to the Lord from 6:30 am to 8:00 am and in the evening at 7:00 pm.

· Kakad Aarti is performed on Thursday and Saturday at 8:30 am.

· On Fridays at 7:30 pm devotees of the temple will engage in Satsang Study Group means knowing about holy book Gita.

Information to devotees

The temple is opened from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm on all days of the week. The events of temple comprise of chants offered by talent pools and various cultural programmes from different parts of the world take place during festival times. Hire a bus from Coimbatore or nearby places to reach the shrine safely.
