A giant snake suspected of killing several small neighborhood animals was killed Tuesday in Missouri.
Pauline Horstdaniel?s dog woke her up barking around 2:30 a.m., according to local news outlet KTVI-TV. Horstdaniel went outside to find a 15-foot-long, 160-pound Burmese python in her Warren County yard.
She called her father-in-law who killed it with a shotgun, KTVI-TV reported.
The python had been spotted several days prior, but had eluded neighbors in the rural area that?s about 50 miles west of St. Louis.
Pythons are carnivores and kill prey ? including sometimes humans ? by strangulation.
