GHANASCO old students assist school

The 1990 year-group of Old Students of Ghana Senior High School (GHANASCO) in Tamale has donated over 3250 books covering subjects including mathematics, science, arts and business to the school.

The group has also fixed street light from the school’s administration block to all its dormitories as well as presented footballs and sets of jerseys to the school.

Mr Rockson Atakole, President of the 1990 year-group of GHANASCO, accompanied by some members of the group, presented the books to the Headmistress of the school at its compound in Tamale as well as inaugurated the street lights.

Mr Atakole said the gesture was to enhance teaching and learning as well as ensure a safe and secure environment for students to move from their dormitories in the evening to go for lessons at the classrooms.

He challenged students of the school to develop their skills and talents to better serve the country.

Mr Atakole, who also works at the National Health Insurance Authority, promised to send a team to the school to register the students onto the national health insurance scheme.

Madam Dan-Braimah Asobayire, Headmistress of GHANASCO thanked the 1990 year-group for the gesture and appealed to old students of the school to come to the aid of the school saying, it faced infrastructure challenges.

Madam Asobayire expressed gratitude to Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman, Minister of Education, for her assistance to the school in terms of helping to solve some of its infrastructural challenges.
