The Ghana Scholarly Society (GSS) has pushed back the submission deadline for its 2026 International Conference on African Development (iCAD 2026) by one month, giving researchers until April 30, 2026, to submit their work.

The deadline, originally set for March 31, now gives academics and practitioners additional time to finalise extended abstracts of two to four pages or full papers of up to 12 pages for submission through Oxford Abstracts.

The three-day conference remains scheduled for June 17 to 19, 2026, at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) in Cambridge, United Kingdom, under the theme “Green Transitions and Inclusive Industrialisation in Africa: Theory to Policy and Practice.”

It is the society’s third annual conference, following gatherings at the University of Bradford in 2024 and Aston Business School in Birmingham in 2025.

All accepted papers will be published in the British Library Conference Proceedings, with selected submissions considered for placement in journals including Thunderbird International Business Review, Africa Journal of Management, and African Affairs.

The conference spans seven thematic tracks covering business and management, economics and finance, artificial intelligence and digital technologies, health and medicine, engineering and construction, law and society, and urban futures.

A PhD and Emerging Scholars Colloquium on June 17 will provide space for early career researchers to present work and receive feedback, while an Industry and Practitioners Workshop will connect academic theory with practical implementation.

Early-bird registration closes May 19, 2026. Fees stand at £175.04 for participants based in the United Kingdom and Europe, and £255.04 for overseas delegates. Reduced fees of £125.04 apply for early-bird PhD and master’s students.

The conference is organised in partnership with ARU, the British Council Ghana, Ghana High Commission in the United Kingdom, UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce (UK-GCC), Ghana International Bank, Taptap Send Money Transfer, OMAXX, First Klass Shipping, and ExcelPlus Education.
