Maxwell Konadu handed interim charge of the Black Satelites

Kwasi Nyantakyi has backed the Ghana FA?s decision to hand temporary charge of the national U-20 team to Maxwell Konadu.
The position became vacant after the sudden resignation of Orlando Wellington who has been under a considerable amount of pressure following strings of unimpressive results.
The assistant Black Stars coach was thus roped in to fill the gap for the mean time but many have expressed concerns over the appointment.
The critics insist Konadu be left alone to concentrate on the Black Stars while someone else be given the opportunity with the team from the onset on a full time basis.
Nyantakyi in his association?s defence however says the former Asante Kotoko coach was the best option available at the time the decision was made.
?The assistant Black Stars coaching job is on a full time basis but for now the Black Stars is not engaged in any assignment hence our decision to hand the team (U-20) to Maxwell Konadu,? he said.
?When Orlando Wellington left, we decided we needed someone who knew the players, has pedigree and will command the respect of everyone and immediately Maxwell Konadu fell in that category.?
It is readily unknown how long Maxwell Konadu will be in charge of the Black Satellites that have only recently started winning games recording impressive scorelines.
Ghana will face Uganda in the first African Youth Championship qualifier next month.
