A staff of Ghana Highway Authority (GHA), Daniel Darkoh Turckson, has been installed Chief of Ajumako Eshiem in the Central Region amid fanfare in the farming community.
Mr. Turckson was carried in a palanquin through the principal streets of Eshiem to signify his installation as chief of the town last week.
He was given the stool name Nana Nkum II. In his acceptance speech, the 50-year-old Nana Nkum pledged to make formal education his priority by instituting an educational fund to assist needy but brilliant pupils so as to produce prominent personalities in future for the town and the country as a whole.
Nana Nkum II used the occasion to call on Ghanaians to ensure peaceful elections so that the country would remain intact after the December election.
He also advised chiefs to remain neutral in the wake of the electioneering campaign in order not to bring the chieftaincy institution into disrepute.
