The Emmy Awards are held to honor the best in US primetime TV programming as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
The ceremony will be held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
Leading contenders include Game of Thrones, Kevin Spacey?s House Of Cards and Matthew McConaughey?s True Detective.
Controversial hit series Game of Thrones has received the most recognition with 19 nominations, while American Horror Story: Coven received 17 and Breaking Bad received 16.
Comedian and late-night talk show host Seth Meyers will host the show for the first time.
