The former Minister for Health Alban Bagbin, has told XYZ News that he plans to ceasefire after the intervention of the NDC General Secretary.

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) called for a truce in the media war over recent criticisms of the government by a former Majority Leader, Mr. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.

The former Majority leader who is also one of the three ?wise men? in charge of government?s priority projects, bemoaned the difficulty in accessing the president to advise him on some issues he claimed were critical.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia in an interview on an Accra based radio station stated that a committee had been set up to go into the matter.

He said he had spoken to Mr Bagbin and all those who had made comments on the issue and expressed the hope that an amicable solution would be found.

Speaking on the XYZ Breakfast show Tuesday, before the President?s veiled response to him, Mr. Alban Bagbin said he respects the truce called by the Party?s General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia and would not want to make any further comment.

?I respect the General Secretary and I think the right thing to be done is not to talk on this issue again for now?I wouldn?t want to make any further comment? Mr. Bagbin told host Moro Awudu.

He however added he statements were not made out of malice and were only meant to help draw the President?s attention to certain key issues.
