Belgian side Anderlecht have confirmed that their Ghana youngster Frank Acheampong will play a key role in the first team of the club next season.
GHANAsoccernet.com exclusively reported earlier this month that the silky utility play has been promoted to the first team of the club after just six months with the junior team.
The 19-year-old exceeded expectations since joining the Belgian giants in January on an initial loan deal from Thai Premier League club Buriram United.
The Ghana U20 star subsequently signed a permanent deal at the end of the season for a Thai record fee of 1 million euros.
Following some impressive appearances for the second team last season, Acheampong will now join the big boys in the team to play next season.
?Anderlecht will in fact allow young attackers Ruy Alvarez and Frank Acheampong to express their talents in the first team next season after their promising performances in recent months,? Anderlecht?s General manager Van Holsbeeck disclosed.
Acheampong is one of many youngsters expected to explode at the FIFA U20 World Cup finals currently going on in Turkey.
