The Foundation for Women in Sports (FOWIS), has embarked on an aggressive membership drive for supporters to rally behind the Black Queens at the beckoning African Women?s Championship (AWC) in Namibia next month.
The initiative is geared towards getting female supporters for female athletes.
Director of Projects and Marketing, Olivia Gonzalez said, ?We must always go out in our numbers to be with our female teams whether they are playing in Accra or Abuja, South Africa or Namibia. This is the time to get ourselves ready for the tournament so that we travel to Namibia in our numbers, support them and boost their morale.
?This is the time to identify with them if we really want to travel with them to Canada next year, we must be in Namibia with them, we must follow their trial matches and every activity they are involved in, we must be loyal supporters whether they are playing at home or outside?.
She added that, her outfit was determined to make the organisation a national one comprising all female sports enthusiasts.
