Four Ghanaian students have recorded outstanding results in the Strategic Case Study Exam, the final capstone assessment of the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) Professional Qualification, with all four scoring above 100 out of a possible 150 marks in the same examination window.

Frederick Kwasi Darteh, Samuel Nyarko, Mohammed Amin Abdul-Mumin and Richmond Attuah, all of whom trained through Aspire Executive Institute in Ghana, achieved the results in the globally administered assessment run by The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), placing them among high-performing candidates worldwide.

“Scoring above 100 in the Strategic Case Study exam is an exceptional result,” said Paul Aninakwah, Associate Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA), CGMA, Country Director for Ghana at CIMA.

Aninakwah said the performance demonstrated not just technical competence, but also the strategic thinking, professional judgement and leadership capability that employers actively seek in finance professionals.

The Strategic Case Study Exam sits at the apex of the CGMA Professional Qualification, which is structured across three levels — Operational, Management and Strategic. Each level culminates in a Case Study Exam requiring candidates to apply technical knowledge alongside business, people and leadership skills to real-world scenarios. Passing the Strategic level, combined with meeting practical experience requirements, leads to full CIMA membership and the CGMA designation.

Ghana has produced notable individual high achievers in the qualification in previous exam windows, but four candidates from a single institution surpassing the 100-mark threshold simultaneously points to the growing quality of professional finance training within the country.

Managing Consultant of Aspire Executive Institute, Dr. Sigmund Yevugah, attributed the performance to consistent preparation and focus, expressing confidence in the four students as they advance toward full CGMA qualification.

The CGMA designation is jointly administered by CIMA and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and is recognised by employers across business and finance sectors worldwide.
