First Monkeypox Death Reported in Ecuador

The first death of a patient with monkeypox was recorded in Ecuador on Monday, the country’s Health Ministry said.

“One person died on Monday, August 8, due to a pathology detected earlier,” according to the statement.

Overall, 10 cases of monkeypox have been registered in the country, the ministry said.

The first case was registered just over a month ago.
