The maiden edition of the Ghana Models Awards Junior has been announced by the organisers of the event and will come off at “The Burg” in La, Accra on September 24, 2022.
According to Mr. Jerry Wonder Sampson, founder of the Ghana Models Awards Junior, the separation of kid model awards from the main “Ghana Models Awards” was to give more room for more kid models to be encouraged.
Mr. Sampson added that it was necessary as the survival of the modelling industry depended on building a strong foundation for these kids.
“To continue the cycle of production of professional models, we must acknowledge and give a high level of focus to the younger ones because they are the seeds that would germinate and grow to become professional models.
“Sustaining the growth of the modelling industry is very imperative, so encourage these young ones to continue the growth of the modelling sector,” he explained.
This year’s event would celebrate a wide range of kid models, from runway modelling to commercial and editorial modelling.
A total of 16 categories have been announced, with 29 nominees vying for a variety of top honours at this year’s awards themed “Celebrating Our New Borns, Protecting the Future”.
The Ghana Models Awards Juniors has been well received by stakeholders of the Ghana modelling industry, from models and parents of the kids to corporate Ghana.
Cosmetics giants “Ghandour Cosmetics” and “Flora Tissues” are among the partners and sponsors for this year’s awards.
