The Fiat Grande Panda has won the AUTOBEST CONQUEST Award 2026 in the Design category, earning the title of Best Car Design of Europe 2026 in the inaugural edition of the competition.
The award was decided by a combined vote of the AUTOBEST Jury, drawn from representatives across 32 European countries, and direct public voting conducted through AUTOBEST’s official platforms. The inclusion of public voting marks a first for the competition, which invited European drivers to select the cars they believe best represent the future of mobility across three categories: Design, Technology and User-Friendliness.
Grande Panda secured the Design title ahead of five other finalists. The result, FIAT said, reflects how European drivers and industry experts alike view the model: a car with a clear, distinctive and contemporary design rooted in Italy’s automotive heritage.
The award was announced during the AUTOBEST CONQUEST Show, broadcast live on March 28, 2026. Fiat positioned the recognition as validation of its broader mission to make mobility accessible, joyful and democratic, with the Grande Panda serving as the centrepiece of that strategy in the urban compact segment.
The win adds to a strong run of recognition for the Grande Panda, which has previously been named Auto Europa 2026 by the Unione Italiana Giornalisti Automobilistici and reached the final seven of the 2026 Car of the Year competition from an initial field of 35 candidates. The model is offered in petrol, hybrid and fully electric variants, giving it broad appeal across European markets with varying infrastructure and regulatory environments.
AUTOBEST is a pan-European automotive organisation whose jury spans countries from across the continent and evaluates vehicles for their relevance to everyday mobility needs.
