The Nigeria Football Federation has apologised for the erroneous fixtures for both semi-final matches, which was released to the public on Tuesday.
Director of Competitions, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, said the officer concerned had already been relieved of his duties and will be sanctioned by the Federation accordingly.
?We apologise profusely to all the teams and football stakeholders for the error made in those fixtures, and this will never happen again,” he said.
“The officer made a mistake in the tabulation and this is unacceptable. We implore all the teams concerned, State FA?s and stakeholders to always contact the Director of Competitions on all details henceforth.”
He announced that the correct fixtures will see Lobi Stars of Makurdi take on Kano Pillars, while champions Heartland are up against Prime FC of Oshogbo.
?For the avoidance of doubt, Heartland FC of Owerri, the reigning champions, will tackle Prime FC of Oshogbo at the Ilorin Township Stadium on Wednesday, August 15, while Lobi Stars will confront Kano Pillars at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar on the same day, ? Dr. Sanusi explained.
Heartland FC ejected Crown FC of Ogbomosho in Port Harcourt, while Prime FC, champions of the Ibadan, stunned two-time African champions, Enyimba FC of Aba.
All four teams are already bound for the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere for the grand finale on Sunday, August 26, with the third place match starting at 2 p.m. while the final match will kick off at 4 p.m.
