FCTA jails 21 for environmental offences

Authorities in the capital territory also sealed 86 premises in March and April

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has prosecuted and imprisoned 21 persons for various environmental offences between March and April this year.

Bala Mohammed, the FCT Minister, said on Wednesday in Abuja that apart from those imprisoned, the administration prosecuted 1258 persons during the period under review.

According to him, during the same period, the FCTA, through the Abuja Environmental Protection Board, sealed up 86 premises for various environmental offences.
