The capital city revamps its internal revenue capacity

The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCDA), on Thursday, revealed that it generated over N1 billion as internal revenue for June.
This was disclosed by the Minister of State for the territory, Olajumoke Akinjide, after this month’s meeting of the FCT’s Joint Account and Allocation Committee in Abuja.
Akinjide said that the revenue will be shared, alongside with the federation allocation, between the three tiers of government in the territory.
The minister, who was represented by the Director of Administration and Finance in the FCTA, Yusuf Saidu, reiterated that the territory?s administration will continue to uphold the transparency in their system of governance throughout the six area councils in the territory.
She also said that the administration has put in place a mechanism to monitor local councils in the area on a monthly basis, and reward those found to be performing optimally.
