Presidential aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed optimism that the President Jonathan-led administration would be voted out of power in the 2015 poll.
He said Nigerians yearning for progress of the country would prefer to vote for the APC rather than the PDP.
He promised that the APC would leave no stones unturned in presenting a formidable candidate against Jonathan.
He said: ?I want to remind you that in election, we normally have fatigue. In all countries, including civilised ones, parties normally win elections once, twice and, at times, thrice. Good or bad, the electorates would say, ?yes okay, we like you. You are good but please, my friend, go, let?s try the other one, even if it is bad, we would see the contrast.?
?We have seen it happen in developed democracies, like America, the United Kingdom (UK). We had a situation in the UK where some prime ministers were elected for a third term, and within the term, they had to be removed by party elders in that country. So, people are sick and tired of the government. People want change.
?Today, some parts of this country are flying flags besides the green white green flag. That is the fact of the matter. People are being killed; people are being slaughtered like chickens. So there are so many things that have gone wrong over the past few years. Today, Muslims and Christians, even non-believers are yearning for change. And that is why we are trying to get the best candidate out of our party, so that we can together rally around him or her for the party to win. We are coming together as a family to ensure the success of our party.?
