German airline Eurowings on Thursday morning touched down at the Hosea Kutako International Airport to complete its mainden flight to Namibia .

EurowingsDeputy minister of works Engel Nawatiseb and some board members of the Namibia Airports Company were there to welcome the flight.

The airline will be flying between Cologne in Germany and Windhoek twice a week, operating an A330-200 Airbus that carries 310 passengers.

Namibia Airports Company board chairperson Rogers Kauta said Eurowings’ first-class service will increase revenue and contribute to the growth of the economy.

Eurowings was the latest to fly the Namibian skies, joining Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airline, South African Airways, British Airways and KLM. Enditem
