Egypt Ease To Comfortable 3-0 Win Over Uganda In Friendly Ahead Of Ghana Clash

Egypt registered a comfortable 3-0 victory over Uganda in the final warm-up game ahead of the World Cup qualifying clash against Ghana.

A first-half header by veteran Ahmed Eid was followed by two late goals from Mohamed Abdul-Shafi and youngster Ahmed Samir.

It is Egypt?s second victory over a mediocre Uganda side in the space of three days, with the Pharaohs missing most of their first-team players.

As 11 internationals are away with the Ahli squad and 10 foreign-based players are unavailable, Bob Bradley fielded a second-string team, including some first-team hopefuls.

Midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou, who has been out for most of the year with a knee injury, managed to play the full 90 minutes as he pushes for a place in the squad against Ghana.

Full-back Abdul-Shafi proved his credentials as a strong candidate to fill in the left-back role, while Zamalek wing-back Hazem Emam enjoyed another good game.

Emam, who scored his first international goal two days ago, provided two assists for his club mates Eid and Abdul-Shafi.

There was no place for midfield star Shikabala, who remains doubtful for the Ghana trip after twisting his ankle in the previous game.
