A Ghanaian-owned glass processing and aluminium fabrication company has officially opened its doors in Accra, positioning itself as the first in Ghana’s glass industry to formally seek alignment with the government’s 24-Hour Economy Policy.
EcoGlass Ltd launched its operations and product line on March 27 at its facility off the Adenta-Aviation Road, drawing stakeholders from the construction, manufacturing, and real estate sectors, as well as government officials.
Managing Director Richard Kobla Borluvie framed the launch as a deliberate step in Ghana’s industrial ambitions. “We aim to be the first company in the glass processing industry to adopt this policy,” he said, describing the company’s intention to expand production capacity, support job creation and contribute to the country’s industrialisation agenda.
EcoGlass offers glass tempering, lamination, cutting, double glazing and installation services, producing customised solutions for windows, doors, partitions, balustrades and shower enclosures. The company also manufactures aluminium frames for doors, windows, curtain walls and structural glazing, serving real estate developers, government agencies, architects, fabricators, contractors and homeowners.
Board Chairman Daasebre Afome Dankwa used the occasion to make a broader argument for local manufacturing. “For too long we have exported potential and imported finished value. Industrialisation changes that story. It keeps value here, generates jobs here and restores dignity to our labour,” he said.
Deputy Minister for Works and Housing Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, who served as guest of honour, endorsed the company’s direction and urged it to explore round-the-clock operations under the government’s economic framework. She also pointed to Ghana’s improving macroeconomic conditions as a tailwind for manufacturers, noting that currency stability directly affects the ability to import raw materials and plan production.
EcoGlass, established in 2024, says its operations are guided by a commitment to quality, durability and affordability, with plans to integrate environmentally responsible production technologies as the company scales.
