Eastern Regional NVTI Lacks Logistics

The Eastern Regional Coordinator For The National Vocational and Technical Institutem (NVTI), Testing Department Mr. Martinson Osei has called on the Government to support the institute with logistics and equipments to run the of the Department.

The institute faces some major challenges like, lack of official means of transport as well as places for attachment for its students, and as such students trained by the institute have to pay money before they are offered attachment opportunities in other institutions.

Mr. Martinson Osei noted that the National Vocational and Technical Institute was established in 1970 by the then government, accredited to undertake training for workers and people who have ?completed Junior High School and Senior High School to acquire skills in painting, decoration, machine operating, general wreathing, cookery, dressmaking, needle work and among others.

Mr. Martinson noted that training are also organized ?made for persons with disabilities in cane and rope works textile and clothing.

He appealed to the youth to be self employed through this skills training, and take advantage of it, and appealed with the government to channel resources into the training which to help curb unemployment in the country.
