Drive to Inspire Africa (DTI-A), the youth empowerment non-governmental organisation founded by lawyer and entrepreneur Nana Adjoa Hackman, has more than doubled its mentorship programme in a year, growing from 179 mentees to 351 and expanding its network from 8 to 22 countries, according to its 2025 impact figures presented in Accra last week.
The data was disclosed at the organisation’s 2025 Annual Impact Reporting Event, held on Thursday, March 19, at the Alisa Hotel, North Ridge, under the theme “Building Africa’s Future, One Young Person at a Time.” The event brought together diplomats, corporate partners, and sponsors to review the organisation’s activities since it was founded in 2023.
Beyond mentorship, DTI-A reached over 20,000 students across Ghana through outreach programmes in 2025, a significant expansion from the 11,000 reached the previous year. The organisation now operates in all six target regions of Ghana and has received formal partnership requests from institutions in Zambia, Nigeria, Kenya, and Botswana.
Hackman, who founded DTI-A after a single motivational talk to over 2,000 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in Koforidua sparked unexpected demand, said the growth had been largely organic.
The organisation’s 2025/2026 scholarship cohort spans a wide range of disciplines, including Health Administration, Computer Science, Nursing, Midwifery, Law, Accounting, Fashion Design, and Environmental Health, across institutions including the University of Ghana (UG), University of Cape Coast (UCC), University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Ghana School of Law, and the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UNIMAC). Hackman said the organisation’s policy is to secure full funding for each beneficiary before enrolment begins, ensuring no scholar is left stranded mid-programme due to funding shortfalls.
She also announced the Built for More Institute, a new training arm offering skills and trade-based programmes both online and in-person, designed to equip young people with practical tools in entrepreneurship, sales, and personal development.
Hackman called on corporate organisations, philanthropists, and individuals to partner with DTI-A to scale its scholarship programme and outreach operations.
