Drivers to be checked with Alcohol meter

The Greater Accra regional chairman of the Ghana Road Transport Union, Alhaji Sly Tetteh, has hinted that the union executives will implement the alcohol reading meter effectively in this year’s Easter festivity.

Accident seems to have characterized most of Ghana’s festive season especially, Christmas and Easter.
There has not been a single festivity an accident was not witnessed claiming lives and property worth millions cedis.
Speaking in an interview with Happy News about the preparation of the drivers union ahead of the festivity, Alhaji Sly Tetteh indicated that, there will be a meeting with the various road safety stakeholders.
According to him, the meeting will be based on how to reduce road carnage as the country prepares for this year’s Easter festivities.
He added that, though the alcohol reading meter was introduced long ago, it has not been utilized effectively.
