Notwithstanding, firefighter are quick on the spot to rescue victims from dangerous situations especially when buildings cave in or catches fire whiles victims are trapped under.

Meanwhile, people still maintain the notion that firefighters usually clued themselves around tables at fire stations playing indoor games such as cards and drafts whiles waiting for the next fire call.

Clearly, those days have become better and organized in this modern era as the Adenta fire station in the Adenta Municipal Assembly under the Greater Region now have a multi-faceted public agency with an ever increasing workload.

Therefore, firefighters are compelled to keep themselves at peak physical condition because they always know that at any moment they could be clambering ladder or probably be attending to an unconscious fully-grown man down to safety from a tower.

That is the more reason why when they are not eating or relaxing in the crew [team] room they keep themselves in the top shape playing cards.

In any emergency situation, time is of essence, so it is not until they are on the road that they find out what lies in store for them at their destination but that could be a simple bonfire which may get out of control.

Sometimes, it may be a blaze in a furniture warehouse billowing clouds of deadly cyanide gas.

Firefighters today are expected to have constant knowledge and sharpen their skills broadly on different aspects relating to emergency medical treatment, road traffic collision, hazardous? material, public education, fire protection systems, apparatus, equipment operation and maintenance, public administration ,public relations, theoretical and practical firefighting.

The Fire Commander DO III John Roy Tannorson, under his leadership role, has become a sort of routine job by every fire fighters whenever they are needed to act swiftly.

The Commanding Officer DO III, John Roy Tannorson however knows that things could go wrong so he do give assignments and organizes a research on practical fireman-ship on topics that are mostly experience such as flashovers, flashback, SWOT analysis, back draft , back draught, re-ignition to keep us on top of our job.

Firemen are essential part of the community and one of the most committed is the Commanding Officer? John Roy Tannorson who do take some hours of his busy schedule to partake in little community services, he regularly gives talks about fire prevention to the Adenta Municipality or take his operational men on simulation exercises, going to firefighting, visiting schools and churches for fire safety inspections, drills and training with his able staffs so that the municipality will be a fire free community.

The funny aspect about fire fighters comes in day and night, they love to be called firefighters because they get to see the positive results of their service after.

But on the serious note firemen sometimes dies nut in the unluckily situation get burnt in the process forever. ?Safety first is safety always?.
