Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Fatau Dauda was in action for Chippa United against Maritzburg Tuesday after weeks of waiting for his paper works.wpid-dauda.jpg

The 29-year-old was cleared to play for his new found club and head coach Kostadin Papic handed him the starting role but the Ghanaian shot-stopper was given a baptism of fire after losing 3-0 to Maritzburg United.

Ghana international Yakubu Mohammed gave the homesters a perfect start after breaking the game?s barrenness in the 20th minute with a fine finish before Nhlanhla Vilakazi stretched the lead in the 50th minute at the Harry Gwala Stadium in the South Africa PSL.

Sheldon Van Wyk made the game a non-contest in the 83rd minute when he scored the third goal for Maritzburg.

Former Ghana international John Paintsil also played his debut game for Maritzburg United but fellow countryman Awal Mohammed was an unused substitute.
