An aide to Gov Willie Obiano and chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA), Chief Ben Obi has described as misleading and malicious falsehood the report making the rounds in the internet and within the nation’s political circle that he was threatening to disgrace and embarrass the immediate past governor of the state, Chief Peter Obi except he was given a whooping sum of five hundred million naira as ransom.

He accused those behind the story as enemies APGA who fabricated and spread the information.

Obi who is the honorary self-styled monarch of APGA stated that one (names withheld)social media network journalist had asked him why he was demanding ten million naira as ‘settlement’ from the former governor and he jokingly responded that he cannot be asking for such a small amount of money considering his political and social status in the party and Nigeria.

?That if he want to make any such demand he would start from five hundred million Naira. That he won’t be the one to belittle his net worth. That was all that transpired.

He said he was therefore startled when about 25 minutes later someone from London called him to express his anger over the report he read of him on the social media network overseas. That it left him speechless.

?And before he could realize what was happening the report was all over the airwaves, saying he was blackmailing the former governor who interestingly is his cousin.

?Chief Obi said further “Why would I make such ridiculous demand from my brother, what is it that he has done wrong that I am now asking him to settle me for? If I want to fight the former governor, I will do that at the ‘Ummuna’ level where there will be no policemen around. I
served Mr Peter Obi dutifully for eight years and he remain my boss, brother and friend.”
?The SSA to the incubent governor, Chief Willie Obiano said emphatically that there is no way he would pull down the house he helped built successfully.
>
>> He expressed happiness that the intended purpose of the fabricated tissue of lies failed to achieve the aim of his enemies who are just looking for anything to hold on to, to cause disaffection in the rank and file of APGA.
>
>> The Igwe of APGA worlwide called on all the party faithful not to listen to the opposition. He however urged them to be focused and forge ahead in the true spirit of being their brothers’ keeper which according to him is the motto of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
>
>> It would be recalled that the social media network was recently awashed with purported story of Chief Ben Obi making a demand of half a billion naira from his brother, the former governor of Anambra state, Chief Peter Obi as part of his ‘settlement’.
