The case between Aggrieved Member of Parliament Emmanuel Aboagye Didieye and the National Democratic Congress has been discontinued by the plaintiff.
Counsel for the NDC Kojogah Adawudu told Kwame Sefa Kayi on peace fm’s Kokrokoo that “I got to court and met Didieye’s lawyer Obeng Manu who told me his client has decided to discontinue the case.”
He said they went to court to make the decision known to the judge and the Judge ruled that the Member of Parliament cannot bring the same case back to court but the NDC did not charge for damages from the plaintiff on the basis that they are family.
Emmanuel Aboagye Didie filed a law suit in an Accra High court after the General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia announced a decision by the party’s Electoral Committee to drop him from the race.
This move paves the way for the much anticipated National Delegates Congress of the party to select the party’s National Executives to steer the affairs of the party and to determine and define the strategies of the party ahead of the next General election.
The National Democratic Congress will go to the polls on Saturday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to select leaders. Over three thousand six hundred delegates are expected to vote in the election.
