Cameroon President Paul Biya: Delusion Personified

Cameroon’s President Paul Biya on Friday decreed partial cabinet reshuffle, according to the presidency.

At the proposal of the new Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute, Biya nominated 11 ministers, four ministers delegate, two ministers in charge of mission, one ministers of state, and one secretary of state, with key minister portfolios including economy, finance, defense, interior, foreign affairs, remaining unchanged.

A major newcomer in the cabinet was opposition politician, Jean de Dieu Momo, who campaigned for Biya during Oct. 7 presidential election last year. He was appointed minister delegate at the ministry of justice.

It’s the first government reorganization after Biya won his seventh presidential term last year. A few hours before the announcement of the ministerial reshuffle, Biya appointed Dion Ngute as his new prime minister to replace Philemon Yang, who was in office since 2009. Enditem
