CAF to Postpone AFCON 2015 Because Of Ebola

The outbreak of the Ebola virus in parts of Africa has bulldozed the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to rescind on its decision to staging the Morocco 2015 in January www.sports24gh.com understands.

The decision follows a meeting held by the President of CAF, Issa Hayatou and representatives from the Moroccan Health Ministry and the Moroccan Football Association (FRMF).

The tournament was originally scheduled to start from January 17 – February 8, 2015 but the Moroccan authorities raised an eyebrow due to the outbreak of Ebola in parts of West Africa.

President Issa Hayatou was adamant to their request at first but www.sports24gh.com is reliably informed that Mr. Hayatou has rescinded his earlier stance.

However, the African football governing body will make an official statement on the issue on Sunday after an Executive Committee meeting in Algiers, Algeria.
