Bomb rocks Kano again

Sabon Gari area of Kano city was rocked by a bomb blast on Sunday evening. The explosives which went off around 7.15 pm at the New Road area of Sabon gari were reportedly placed between two vehicles by some unknown men.
Eyewitness report said the explosion caught everyone unaware and threw the area into confusion as people scampered for safety.

Although some vehicles were vandalised, there were no casualties. The police Public Relation Officer, ASP Musa Magaji Majia who confirmed this dispelled severity of the blast saying “it was a low calibre Improvised Explosive Devise”. He assured residents of the area and the city that the security forces are on top of the situation, advising them to continue their normal routine and businesses as anti-bomb squad has been dispatched to the area.

The Sabon-gari area is resident to most Christians and non-indigines in the ancient city, with several social spots and beer parlors.
