Former Ghana international Mohammed Gargo believes Kevin-Prince Boateng and the Ayew brothers are irreplaceable
Former Ghana international midfielder Mohammed Gargo claims Ghana does not have players whose qualities march up the level of the Ayew brothers and Kevin-Prince Boateng.
The Ayew brothers announced an end to their temporarily retirement from international football after meeting with Ghana?s President while Kevin-Prince Boateng informed Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah and GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi last month of his return.
Boateng, 26, quit the Black Stars in 2011 for unknown reasons and had turned down several requests to rescind his decision.
Serbia trainer Goran Stevanovic shut the door on the former German youth international after swerving him in Milan on a visit.
The Ayews, sons of African legend Abedi Pele, also retired after being left out of the Ghana squad for the 2013 AFCON.
The Black Stars have achieved some form of success in the absence of the trio together with Michael Essien as they have edged closer to qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
?No I don?t think we have players who can replace them now. At their peak, they?re very good and I?m happy they?re back into the team,? he said in an interview with Accra-based Live FM.
Gargo, was the first Black African player to captain Italian Serie A side Udinese and played nine season for the club.
He also played for Ghana between 1992 and 2001.
