The Electricity Company of Ghana has indicated that last Monday?s power outage wasn?t their fault but rather due to the problem with some GRIDCO generators.

The Director of Operations for ECG, Tetteh Okine in an interview, said the company was directed by GRIDCO to put some areas off because of problems with some of their generators.

He also cautioned the public that the ECG has not officially announced the end to the load shedding exercise currently being undertaken.

Last Monday, several parts of the capital, Accra was thrown into darkness for a very long period of time. This prompting some consumers to complain on social network sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Monday?s blackout comes at a time when many thought that the load shedding exercise is ending.
