Benjamin Uwajumogu To Step Up Transformational Agenda

The Speaker, Imo state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu, has again assured people of Okigwe senatorial zone of the state, that the transformational changes being witnessed across the six local government areas of the zone would further be stepped up by next year to enable the zone regain its enviable pride of place in the state.

The Speaker, who stated this at a well-attended sensitization really organized by the Ben Uwajumogu campaign organization (BUCO) for Osuama Anara ward in Isiala Mbano Council area, maintained that it was time for the people of the zone to take their destinies in their own hands by ensuring that leaders who share in the pains and ill-feelings of the people were elected into various political offices to effect that needed change.
Represented by his campaign co-ordinator for Isiala Mbano L.G.A, Chief Collins Anoro, the Speaker noted that the present condition of Okigwe elicits constructive thoughts of change from the right-thinking people of the zone, who believe in the peace, development and progress of the zone.

He added that having set the ball rolling in attracting legacy projects, as well as transformational changes to the zone as the Speaker of the State Assembly in the last three years, the people of the zone were optimistic that Rt. Hon. Uwajumogu, as their senator after next year?s election would only brighten their chances of qualitative and purposeful representation at the centre.

Receiving the campaign team at the ward, the President General, (P.G) of Anara community, Chief Ibeh, thanked the BUCO team for the exemplary style they have adopted in carrying out their campaign, adding that by using verifiable issues during their campaigns, the team has set an enviable record, which he said was devoid of bitterness and rancor, maintaining that such action was for other politicians who are in dire need of the support of the masses to emulate and ensure sanity in the political system.

He commended the developmental giant strides of the Speaker in various areas in the zone and stressed that having worked assiduously for the betterment of his people; it was time for the people of the zone to reciprocate such gesture for more dividends of democracy.

Highlights of the ceremony were the admission of decampees from the people?s Democratic Party, PDP, labour party, as well as goodwill messages from community leaders and party stalwarts, including, Chief Eric Nwagwu, Lolo Uchekweazu Caroline, Atuwaogu Collins, Chief Uzowuru Innocent, Festus Ohalete, Nwaka Alex, among others.
