The Ministry of Education has cautioned heads of basic schools not to charge over the approved Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) registration fees.

The Ministry noted that some public basic school heads charge above the West African Examination Council (WAEC) approved BECE registration fees of GH? 17.40.
A statement signed by Mr Alex Kyeremeh, Deputy Minister of Education and copied to the Ghana News Agency on Friday said: ?Under no circumstance should any head of basic school charge over the approved BECE registration fees.
?It must be noted that any other charges in connection with the conduct of the BECE has to be approved by the Acting Director General, Ghana Education Service.?
