Awudua Basic School gets Assistance

The Apinto Divisional Council has donated over 1,000 text books to primary and Junior High Schools (JHS) at Awudua in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality.

They also provided extension boards, ceiling fans and stabilizers for the community computer science laboratory.

The items worth GHc11,000 was to enhance quality teaching and learning in Awudua and its neighbouring communities.

Making the presentation on behalf of the Chief of Apinto, Nana Kobina Angu II, Gyasehene of the Apinto Divisional Council, Nana Dr. Adarkwa Bediako II, encouraged the pupils to take their studies seriously and make good use of the text books.

He stated that the Apinto Divisional Council would always support the educational sector to enable their children grow to become responsible citizens.

Receiving the items on behalf of the schools, the Municipal Education Director for Prestea Huni-Valley, Mrs. Vida Mary Kwofie, thanked the Apinto Divisional Council for the gesture.

She promised to ensure that the items donated would be put to good use.

Mrs. Kwofie charged all the heads in the various JHS schools in Awudua to score 100 percent in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
