The field produces over 200,000 barrels of crude and 150 million cubic feet of gas daily
An oil and gas servicing company, AVEON Offshore Limited, has signed a $30 million (N4.5 billion) contract for the development of the Bonga deep water projects in the Niger Delta.
The contract was secured from FMC Technologies Ltd with the aim of constructing major components of the Subsea Production System (SPS) for the Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo).
The Bonga deepwater oil and gas field, which produces more than 200,000 barrels of crude oil and 150 million cubic feet of gas daily, was earlier awarded to FMC Technologies Ltd, Nigeria.
The AVEON Offshore contract includes the structural steel procurement, the fabrication and load-out of about 1,000 tons of subsea structures, two 4-slots production manifolds with associated suction piles, well jumpers, tubing head frames, xmas tree ROV panels and control system elements.
The project is to be executed at its 240,000 sqm fabrication yard in Rumuolumeni, near Port Harcourt, and is expected to generate over 200,000 productive man-hours of work. The planned load-out and sail-away of the manifolds for offshore installation is March, 2013.
