The quest by the District Chief Executive Officer for Asutifi?North District Hon Eric Addae to be re-nominated by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama appears to have been programmed to suffer a political miscarriage as party members of the National Democratic Congress of the district have registered a vote of no confidence against him.?????
Hon Eric Addae? according to current allegation gathered by The Moment is alleged to have paid a hefty amount of 2.1 billion old Ghana Cedis to Hon Collins Dauda the sector Minister for Minister for Water Resources, Works and Housing and the Member of Parliament for Asutifi??South, 600 million old Ghana Cedis to party executives at the??Regional level??and other sums of money at the??District level, all?to influence executives to lobby on his behalf to be re-nominated? and be imposed on residents?as the District Chief Executive??Officer.
Hon?Eric Addae according to irate supporters?has since his inception failed to deliver to the satisfaction of residents in the District.
Several charges further gathered by The Moment at a just ended uproar staged by aggrieved party executives and supporters?of the ruling party from several communities who partook in the commotion have it that? Hon Eric Addae? since assuming office in the year 2009 has grossly mismanaged all royalties from Newmont Ghana limited and other financial affairs of the district, running down the bank accounts of the District to zero.
The government official, supporters indicated, has refused and failed?to support the party’s office in the payment of a?two-year??accumulated electricity debt, standing at???an amount of GH ?600 when always confronted on several occasions last year.
Notwithstanding that, he was however? able to make a donation of GH ?500 at a fund raising ceremony organized in the same year by the sitting NPP Member of Parliament Hon Joseph Dahah whiles the party was highly indebted to its creditors.
Speaking to The Moment in an interview, the Constituency Chairman Mr. Charles Addae exposed the DCE?for hijacking a 2012 campaign van?for his selfish use. Hon Eric Addae he mentioned has for the past seven months seized the van?and has been using it for his farm activities and other personal errands, running the vehicle down beyond maintenance.
Hon Eric Addae who was favoured by party supporters for the role of a DCE in the year 2009 after losing abysmally?three times in the?years 1998, 2004 and 2008 for the positions?of an assemblyman and MP on two occasions does not deserve a re-nomination by His Excellency John Dramani, The Chairman said, adding that he has also brought disunity among party executives.
?All party executives who stand contrary to his selfish decisions are treated with contempt?and has as?result weakened the foundation?of the party,? he said.
Aggrieved supporters who seized the campaign van during the heat of the commotion in morning of Sunday, 28th July, 2013 have therefore threatened that should his Excellency dares re-nominate Hon Eric Addae, they will all defect to the New Patriotic Party, repaint the NDC party office with NPP colours?and stage a hot demonstration which has never been witnessed in the history of Ghana.
